Chances are, if you’ve lived in the city, you’ve seen street art. This versatile and fast-growing genre has been around since the beginning of urbanization, but thanks to social media and street artists making it famous, the concept has now been turned into designer wall art that can be hung on your walls. Find out how street art has evolved through the years and how it can enhance your home décor today!

Street art has a rich history dating back to the mid-1900s. One of the most famous pieces is created by Banksy, Haight Street Rat. The mural was painted on the south side of Haight Street in San Francisco in 1993. This type of street art is often referred to as 'post modernism' because it blends different styles together, including pop culture, graffiti and abstract expressionism. Some other well-known artists who have contributed to street art are Shepard Fairey and Os Gêmeos.

Street art can add depth, texture, color and style to any home décor project. Whether you want a single piece or something more elaborate, there are many ways to incorporate this type of artwork into your space with ease.

Modern Day Usage

Street art is a type of graffiti that can be used as home décor. Street art, when viewed from the outside, can add both visual interest and personality to any space. When inside the home, street art provides a way to bring some of the outside in - allowing you to view pieces even in your bedroom or bathroom.
Street art comes in many forms including drawings, stencils, painting or stickers. Some pieces are created with chalk while others are made with paper paste-ups. There's something for everyone!!

If you're looking for a new form of interior design to spruce up your place with, why not try some street art?

Traditional Usage

Many people love the idea that they can create a whole new type of home decor by using art on the walls. By using street art, you can add some color and interest to your home without having to think too hard about how to make it happen. Even better is the fact that street art comes in such a variety of types; you're likely to find something that appeals to your personal taste. Not only will this be an easy way to update your décor but also it's easy to change as well. Traditional usage of home décor goes beyond what's found on the wall with items like lamps and candles. That doesn't mean these are obsolete, though! Artwork will always have a place in home décor but so will pieces like bookshelves or flower pots which have been put into a gallery space for decoration purposes.

Ancient Usage (Pre-1700's AD)

Street art has been a part of human culture since ancient times. In fact, many images found on cave walls are considered examples of early street art. These images often depict animals, hunting scenes or religious symbols, but they all share one thing in common: they were created to be seen by others.

Prehistoric Usage

There is evidence that street art has been around for centuries. In fact, some of the earliest examples date back to prehistoric times. For example, in the Lascaux cave painting there are examples of graffiti art on the walls. There is also graffiti art in the form of pictographs that were created by Native Americans in North America as early as 5000 BC.
